About Me

Hello, I'm Mindy Gregory, founder of The Sped Specialist, LLC. With more than 33 years of experience in special education, I have dedicated my career to helping students, families, educators, and others better understand and navigate the complexities of special education.

After 26 years in public education, I retired from a school district in St. Charles County, Missouri, where I spent 16 years serving as one of two Special Education Coordinators. In that role, I worked closely with students, families, educators, administrators, and related service providers to support effective special education programming and ensure the needs of students were being addressed.

Prior to becoming a Special Education Coordinator, I worked as a Special Education Teacher at the high school level. My experience also includes working in a psychiatric hospital as the Director of Education and Lead Teacher, providing me with a broad perspective on the educational, behavioral, and individual needs of students.

My educational background includes a Doctorate in Exceptional Student Education, a Master's degree in Special Education, and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
